The largest wildflower farm in the nation is just a few hours from Houston

In an effort to find spots where people can enjoy bluebonnets in the Hill Country, I wanted to go beyond a Google search and see for myself where people can take in hundreds of flowers. After deciding to make it a family trip with my 2-year-old son, Mateo, and my loving wife, Gina, I found the perfect spot. Inside the market center, where people can purchase plants of their own.Photo by Gabriel Romero Wildseed Farms, created in 1983, is about an hour north of San Antonio in Fredericksburg. The farm is the largest working wildflower farm in the country with more than 1,000 cultivated acres in Texas and over 200 acres of wildflower fields.
